Khumbo Hastings Kachali is a Malawian politician who was Vice President of Malawi from April 2012 to May 2014, serving under President Joyce Banda. He was the first Vice President from the Northern Region of Malawi. Mr. Kachali obtained a Diploma in Project Management from the University of Cambridge and a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Management from the University of Derby. Before entering politics, Mr. Kachali was Second Vice-President for the Malawi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. From 2007 to 2008 he served as Minister of Youth Development & Sports, before being appointed to Minister of Health from 2008 until 2009. Mr. Kachali has been an elected Member of Parliament for three consecutive terms starting from 2004 until today.
