Pekka Metso is Ambassador-at-Large for Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue Processes and Member of the Peace Mediation Team and Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. He is part of the Finnish MFA peace mediation team and carries out his work in multilateral fora. He participated in the implementation meeting of the UN plan of action for religious leaders and actors to prevent incitement to violence that could lead to atrocity crimes in in February 2018. He is also engaged in preventing violent extremism, most recently as a panellist at the OSCE Conference, which was held in Seoul this April. In his native Finland, Mr. Metso has continued this work by participating in the national coordinating group preventing violent extremism.
