Martin Mennecke

Associate Professor, University of Southern Denmark, and R2P Researcher, Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Martin Mennecke, Ph.D., is adjunct professor at the University of Southern Denmark (international law) and visiting lecturer at the University of Greenland in Nuuk, Greenland. He also acts as academic adviser to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on questions concerning the International Criminal Court and responsibility to protect. Since 2004 he has been a member of Danish delegations to numerous international meetings and negotiations, including at the United Nations, the European Union, the ICC and the International Whaling Commission. Currently Mennecke is working on a comprehensive research study for the Danish MFA on how to most effectively implement the responsibility to protect within various strands of Danish foreign policy.
