Ambassador Liberata Mulamula is Tanzania’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States of America and Mexico. She was Senior Personal Assistant of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania. She served as the first Executive Secretary of the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) with headquarters in Bujumbura, Burundi, from 2006-2011. She also served at the Tanzania High Commission to Canada and Permanent Mission to New York as Minister Plenipotentiary and Head of Chancery from 1999 to 2003 respectively before being appointed Ambassador and Director of Multilateral Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tanzania, the post she held up to the year 2006. At the same time Ambassador Mulamula served as Tanzania’s National Coordinator of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region. She was a part time lecturer on the “Art of Negotiations” at the Centre for Foreign Relations in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania and participated in all the Rwandese Peace Talks, Burundi and DRC as part of the Facilitators Team. She is a member of the Genocide Prevention Advisory Network (GPANet) and Interpeace Advisory Council.
