Dr. Ashad Sentongo works as the Director of the Africa Program at the Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation. He formerly worked with the Genocide Prevention Program at the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (S-CAR), as Program Officer on Prevention of Genocide in the Great Lakes Region. During this time, he was based at the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) Secretariat in Bujumbura, Burundi. While at S-CAR where he earned his PhD in Conflict Analysis and Resolution, he was a member of the Sudan Working Group on reconciliation in Darfur, and a former President of the Africa Working Group. In Uganda, he advocated for post-civil-war constitutional reforms, and participated in negotiations between the Government and the Political Parties Consultative Forum on the transition from a Movement Political System to multi-party democracy.
